Dear Members and Friends, Please join us for Easter Sunday morning worship service as we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. On Easter Sunday, April 8th, popularly known as Resurrection Sunday, our worship service begins here in the sanctuary at 10:30 a.m. The Body of Christ here at Ingleside is alive and moving ahead in the ministry and mission of Jesus Christ. We have expanded our diversity, kept vibrant our youth and young adult ministries, provided varied educational opportunities for the children and adults, nurtured and developed leadership in worship and on the session board, expanded our deacons' ministry and centered our worship in the gospel witness of Jesus Christ. Following a recent perioed of self-examination and reflection, the season of Lent should be significantly meaningful for all of us. The marks of suffering and sin are very much with us, in a world that seems hopelessly drawn into war, hunger, and despair. A growing number of people for whom Christ died, that seem to slip deeper and deeper into povery and hopelessness. While there is room for much debate about the cause for these painful realities, we know that at their core is human sin, from which we are called to repent. God is indeed calling us this Lenten season to follow the way of Christ and not the way of the world. Through Christ's incarnation, the Old Testament's promise of God's kingdom was fulfilled, but not consummated. We must live in anticipation of the second coming of Christ for the final realization fo the kingdom of god. We are bound together by and called to be children of God through our faith in Jesus Christ. This community of faith is the church, which was created by the Holy Spirit. Yours in His service, Rev. Roland Gordon, Pastor |
